Acrylic is the Ideal Material for Orange, CA, Lobby Logo Signs
The lobby sign is a significant consideration when putting together office reception areas. Which material and design combination is right for your brand and location? For the Friendly Center, half-inch-thick acrylic was an excellent choice that would allow our technicians to bring out the intricacies of the design and color palette.
We began by cutting out the logo pieces on our CNC router. Technicians then lightly sanded the edges for minimal rounding and applied primer. The last step in the production process was to paint the pieces. Notice the changes in the colors throughout the logo presentation and within the lettering as well.
Technicians were then able to prepare the pieces for installation. We tapped the backs of each piece with threaded studs to ensure a secure mounting. Because these signage pieces would have to be installed with precision, we used the same vector logo file we relied on for cutting the logo to create a paper installation template. The final result is a stunning custom wall logo sign that now brands the office space and welcomes visitors, donors, and families.
What are Acrylic Signs Like?
The polymer used to fabricate acrylic is transparent and makes the pieces look like glass. However, it is far more durable, which makes acrylic a great stand-in for glass. Clients like to use acrylic for lobby signs but also for wayfinding signage and building signs that are exposed to the elements.
There are different ways of manufacturing the signage.
Panels. If you opt for a sign panel, consider having us print the information directly onto the material with UV inks. Typically, these signs combine the elegance of the material with the full-color rendition of your corporate persona for an impressive look. An alternative is imprinted vinyl; we frequently opt for this look when incorporating gradient color changes.
3D letters. Of course, three-dimensional letters are another excellent option. They range in thickness from one-eighth of an inch to about half an inch. The extra depth makes the elements stand out more and adds to the durability.
Cutouts. Some clients want to illuminate the lobby sign. Consider using acrylic to create cutouts for the letters or pieces that illuminate. We place LEDs behind the material, which emphasizes the colors and shapes.
