A couple of years ago, Deliver-It contacted Superior Signs and Graphics to order a custom foam lobby sign for its Santa Fe Springs location. There was no vector file for the specs at that time, which meant that our graphic artist had to recreate the logo. The client loved the finished product and invited us back this year for another order of two brushed metal lobby logo signs.

We routinely keep our clients’ specs on file. Therefore, we had all the information we needed to fabricate two more signs. The process started when our technicians cut out one-inch-thick Gatorfoam into the style elements’ shapes and painted them black.
Next, we added brushed metal facings that look elegant but are budget-friendly to construct. Next, we manufactured the company’s tagline that the client wanted to see displayed underneath the more prominent lobby sign. Finally, our installers visited the locations and mounted the letters flush to the wall.
The finished look is chic and ideally suited for brand building at the offices.
A Closer Look at Gatorfoam
The term “foam” is misleading. It brings up images of an easily breakable material. Gatorfoam is the exact opposite. It consists of a polystyrene core sandwiched between rigid papers. It offers several advantages to the client who selects the product for signage.
For starters, we can imprint the material on both sides. Because of the finish that is already part of the construction, it accepts the colors with ease. Next, consider that the material comes in varying thicknesses. Therefore, you might opt to design a one-inch-thick product or go for the gusto with a three-inch depth.
In addition to imprinting the sign, our technicians can also paint the product with durable colors that look fantastic and embrace your corporate persona. Many clients have had excellent success with painting the edges in white or black, which further helps the letters or boards stand out from the wall.
