Everybody wants their neighborhood to look good. We all want folks passing by to think, “That looks a great place to live.” One way to make your subdivision look smart and appealing is to have a stand-out sign at the entrance. The residents of Jackson Place in Hoover, Alabama had no sign at their entrance, so they contacted Kingfisher Signs & Graphics.

Original entrance, with no identifying sign
Fortunately, they knew roughly what they wanted – metal, dimensional lettering – so it was just a matter of selecting the right font, color and sizing to really make an impression.
There are many options for this kind of lettering: laser-cut acrylic, formed plastic, injection-molded plastic, laminated plastic – or flat-cut metal, cast metal, or fabricated metal, to name just a few, with many different kinds of finishes available. After a few back and forths, we were able to settle on Goldenbook Bold, in flat cut 1/4″ aluminum, painted duranodic bronze.

Custom, flat-cut, painted, aluminum lettering, in place
The residents of Jackson Place were delighted with their new sign. Now everyone driving by can clearly see the name. And with such a classy sign, it must be a classy neighborhood. When the newly planted shrubs and flowers in the bed in front of the sign begin to grow, the whole scene will look even more inviting.
