When a startup neeedlepoint store needed signage, they approached Kingfisher Signs & Graphics with a list of requirements. The main sign had to be formed letters and / or logo and could not be a rectangular banner-style sign, but there was also a limited budget. The store owners presented Kingfisher Signs & Graphics with their logo:

The sign band of the store, as is typical, was much wider than it is tall, so the almost square logo was never going to fit. Plus the landlord was adamant he wouldn’t accept a rectangular sign. So we took that vertically aligned graphic and transformed it into a form that fit the sign band of the store, while adding a creative flair to the design of the script lettering. The owners loved it, and so did their landlord.
Once the design was finalized, Gemini Sign Craft were commissioned to put the design into a 3-dimensional form. Laser cut 1/2″ acrylic, hand painted to match the original logo was the chosen route.
The sign installed
Installation was aided by a precision template from Gemini. The final touch for the job, was to place a printed vinyl graphic of the original logo, along with cut vinyl lettering showing contact information, onto the store’s door:
