A common expression of the lobby sign form is channel lettering; either applied directly to the wall of the lobby, or onto a backboard to emphasize and frame the company’s logo. At Kingfisher Sign & Graphics we recently designed and installed such a sign for BLG Logistics. The customer was clear that they wanted a high visual impact sign. Something that would catch the attention of anyone walking into the business for the first time, while projecting corporate professionalism.
Based on the customer’s comments, we came up with a couple of designs – laser-cut acrylic lettering on brushed aluminum, either mounted directly to the wall, or on ¾” stand-offs. The customer chose the direct mount, so aluminum UltraBoard was selected as the substrate / backing board. The lettering and company logo were cut from 3/8” acrylic
and painted to match the PMS colors specified. When mounted to the UltraBoard, this logo looked amazing.

We mounted the sign at eye level, directly opposite the entrance door. It’s the first thing a customer sees as they enter the office, and we think it makes a powerful statement about the business.
