When the congregation of The Vine Church in Birmingham, Alabama grew too large for their building, they knew they had to move to somewhere bigger. Having purchased an abandoned church, the first thing they needed was signs – to identify themselves and establish their presence in the community. Kingfisher Signs & Graphics was happy to help.
The first sign needed was a replacement face for the monument sign at the main entrance to the church. We went with printed cut vinyl on acrylic for this unlit sign.
Next, the pastor wanted a placard to cover an alcove in the building. He showed us a card with the church’s inspirational vision printed on it and asked if we could upsize that to fill the hole. Of course we said, Yes. At 41 in. wide x 68 in. tall, the placard needed to be light, but rigid enough to be self-supporting. so we printed the graphic on vinyl, then mounted this to an Ultraboard substrate. White, oversize thumbtacks were sufficient to hold the piece in place.
The final job was to create some privacy for the pastor’s office. This needed to be done in a stylish and unobtrusive way, so the obvious answer was to cover the glass of the office wall and door with “frosted glass” vinyl. Printed cut vinyl was then applied to the door to give the final, identifying finishing touch.
The pastor and his congregation were very pleased with the results. Their new church was now their own thanks to Kingfisher Signs & Graphics.
