Absolute Air tips for nest thermostatTips for Your Google Nest Thermostat

If you recently acquired your own Google Nest Thermostat, congratulations on your achievement!

Now you can control the temperature at the touch of a button. We thought it would be a great gesture to highlight a few tips that will help you get the most out of your thermostat.

Here is an expert look into what your thermostat can do.

1. Use your smart device to control the thermostat

We got accustomed to physically manipulating the thermostat on our HVAC systems whenever we wanted to alter the temperature.

Well, there is no need to do that anymore! Your smart device can handle this “interruption to your fun time” for you. All you need to do is install the Nest app on your phone.

You can change it using your voice without clicking up many buttons on your phone.

2. Check the humidity level

Air temperature greatly determines how much we enjoy our living spaces, but there are more factors that come into play.

High humidity can quickly make you uncomfortable. All that sticky skin doesn’t go well with anyone! Itchy skin that comes with low humidity levels doesn’t sound fun either.

You want to stay in a room whose humidity level hovers between 40 and 60 percent. Coastal areas are prone to high humidity. You don’t want to be caught unawares, having forgotten to modify the humidity level in advance.

Luckily, with the Google Nest Thermostat, a built-in sensor actively tests the moisture content inside your house and provides a report on your preferred device. If the humidity is on either extreme, talk to HVAC professionals in your area. They will recommend a dehumidifier that matches the scope of the humidity problem in your home.

3. Smart programming

You probably don’t realize this, but AC and heating roughly constitute 44% of your energy bill. You could save hundreds of dollars by letting your AC system run only when it’s completely necessary.

Traditional thermostats need to be scheduled. With recent technological improvements, thermostats allow up to 3 changes in temperature. Nevertheless, setting up the schedules can be a tedious exercise.

Luckily, the Google Nest eliminates most of the challenges that come with older systems. The technology is designed to learn what you like as you get accustomed to using it. During the first few days of operation, adjust the levels for your comfort, and the system will adapt your preferences over time.

The Nest will then deploy a schedule customized to your specific needs. If you want to leave your house, you don’t need to worry about adjusting the settings, because the motion sensors installed in the device will be able to tell that you are not around.

Embrace Comfort, in a New Style

The first step in shaping your living space into a sacred, comfortable and convenient environment is installing the Google Nest Thermostat. Above all, it is a good way to make your home smart.
