12/18-Oakland, CA-The Hottest Interior Trends Heading into 2020

BY: Your Name, Your Business

Some interior design and décor trends arrive and fizzle quickly, while others remain popular. These trends will still be hot in 2020 as they make your home look stylish, airy, and clutter-free.

Indoor/Outdoor Spaces

Indoor-outdoor spaces create a seamless transition between your patio and the kitchen and living room area. Adding large sliding doors increases your living space and makes it look more open.

Home Offices

Nowadays, more people are telecommuting from home.  Therefore, home offices continue to trend high on interior design lists. These can be customized to your needs but should be kept light and airy to inspire creativity.

Minimalism

Minimalism is still hot in 2020 because the style is simple and elegant.  So many of us struggle with overfilling our rooms and then they become cluttered. Honestly, a bedroom looks better with a king-size bed, nightstand, and a chair. Keep the décor and lines clean.

Four Poster Beds

Four poster and canopy beds provide a certain comfort and luxury at the end of the day. While they look gorgeous, consider the size of your bed frame so it doesn’t look bulky in the room.  Finishing the look with a light fabric makes it look feminine, which is another 2020 décor trend.

Countertop Cabinets

We often overlook storage space in the corners of the kitchen. However, countertop cabinets is a newer kitchen trend and include building a cabinet in that overlooked corner, complete with a drawer with easy to reach items like snacks or spices.

Double Islands in the Kitchen

If you entertain for every holiday, consider adding this hot trend: double islands. Double kitchen islands help you prep away from serving and everything you need is in the cabinets below. You can use the second one for a bar and seating area.

The Resurgence of Black

Black is back and better than ever before. Both homeowners and interior designers have shown that black doesn’t make things smaller if you use contrasting colors. In 2020, you’ll see bold, black kitchens and bathrooms with the walls, sinks, and finishes. It gives it a high-end, luxurious vibe.

Powder Room

Jazzing up and decorating your powder room has become a hot trend too. Add a colorful tile o as the backsplash or wallpaper to get people talking since it’s so unexpected.  Again, while it’s dramatic, keep in mind space.

These are just some of the many hot interior design trends continuing into 2020. If you have any plans to renovate or reorganize your home, we can help. Contact Refresh Organizers & Designers at (510) 570-1292.
