11/25-Oakland,CA- The Top Office Design Trends To Use in 2020

BY: Your Name, Your Business

With 2020 only around a month away, office managers are studying the latest workplace design trends. Nowadays, employees want to spend their day in a successful company, but also one that is inviting and comfortable to work at. Therefore, it’s important to design and organize your office to increase not only productivity but employee satisfaction.

  • Modular Workstations-While the open workspace is still a top trend, many companies are supplementing it with personalized modular spaces so that their employees can focus. These often include adding space dividers between modular pods. Wooden ones add character, while glass ones bring in natural light. Consider adding standing desks, and ergonomic chairs to make it easier as well.
  • Multi-functional Spaces-In addition to modular workstations, businesses need a variety of adaptable and work areas. In essence, businesses are starting to use the “Dynamic Spaces” trend, where different spaces can be transformed from a small collaboration meeting area to a podcast studio in minutes. They use mobile furniture, moveable walls, and adjustable lighting.
  • Playful Community Areas-There is a time for playfulness at work, and the right way to go about it. Depending on where you work, you could incorporate some vintage company logos to brighten it up. Another option is to add some fun activity areas. Some businesses add a coffee bar and lounge area. Others prefer adding a bowling alley or rock climbing wall. Many of your employees would do these activities after work, and now they can do socialize and do them together.
  • Sustainability and Nature-Using all-natural materials or recycled materials for your office furniture has become a popular trend. This means choosing tables, created out of reclaimed wood often and finding chic designs. Many offices are also adding a green wall, known as a vertical garden, where you hang greenery and plants. It adds a vibrant snap of color and adds oxygen to your workstation, promoting positivity and productivity.
  • Improve Lighting and Artwork-Make lighting and artwork a priority in a modern office. If you can, bring in as much natural light as possible, with glass dividers, and windows. If that’s not possible, add modern and sleek fixtures, instead of harsh ceiling lights. Replace outdated artwork with newer pieces that fit your company’s style and aesthetic. You have many options from abstract to Renaissance to Modern art. Just make sure the art compliments the space and doesn’t clutter or overwhelm it.

Making sure your employees are happy is half the process of becoming a productive business. If you need assistance in re-designing your office to a more inviting environment, please Contact Refresh Organizers & Designers at (510) 570-1292.
