Recently, we’ve been focusing on home organization. However, Refresh Organizers & Designers also helps clients with interior design services. Today we want to share with you our ideas and experiences with a new client of ours that is the property management company for community living in the Bay Area.
The company specializes in making moving easy for students and young working professionals. More and more individuals in San Francisco are moving into cohabitation communities. Their properties feature fully-furnished homes that tenants can rent a bedroom at and live in a community. Our designers at Refresh Organizers can help by offering ideas to make rooms appear larger and homier.
We’re offering our specialty interior services for their brand, as well as detailed ‘concierge package’ for the renters. We can help them with space planning, storage solutions, and finding additional furniture pieces.
Design Guidelines and Tips
While the these homes do come fully-furnished, we suggest the following design ideas from our services:
- Change the color of the room to lighten it up and give the illusion of more space.
- Paint your walls and trim the same color, otherwise your eyes will stop where it meets.
- Try colors like off-white, light gray, light blue, and eggshell to make help bring more light in.
- Try using a light blue in your bedroom as it’s soothing and dreamy. A warm eggshell is perfect for your living room and pairs with neutral furniture.
- Use sheer window treatments, such as bamboo shades or lace curtains. These let in more natural light, and the sunlight also helps makes rooms appear larger.
- Use furniture with legs. Oversized furniture makes the room appear smaller, but a loveseat on legs makes a room look larger.
Concierge Package for Renters
We also want to offer a special organization package for renters. Some if its features will include:
- De-cluttering and organization 101-Help renters decide what they really want to keep and what they can let go of and donate or sell. This may free up more space than you know.
- Offering storage ideas-Vertical storage options often work best in small spaces. Try some built-bookcases in the living room. If you want them to stand out, consider painting them a bold shade of color.
- Offering advice about space planning- Keep the floor as free as possible for an open look. Position furniture out of open walkways. Consider making your bed loft-style so you have more space.
