If your workspace is becoming a mess of endless clutter, it makes it difficult to be productive.  You become stressed out looking at the chaotic mess, not knowing where things are or what you’re supposed to do next. Before you run out to buy anything, take inventory of everything in your office. This will help you evaluate how much stuff you have and how to store it away the most effectively. Find furniture with extra storage in it. If you’re cramped on space, try opting for a smaller desk instead of a large chunky one. Consider a smaller one with drawers, where you could keep your pens, notepads, and stapler tucked away off your desk.  Use Vertical storage.  Keep items off the floor and off your desk. Add a bookcase or some shelving to an empty wall. Make use of your wall space. You have many options of storage ideas to hang on the wall, including a peg board to hold office supplies or a coat rack to hold your coat and purse, instead of throwing them over your desk chair. Color coordinate your storage. Use color-coded storage bins on your shelves. You can use a variety of colors, such as red for pens and staples, blue for paper, and green for printing cartridges.   Use smaller bins, and place the items that use daily at an easy level.   Wrap and hide computer cords. Are your computer and printer cords a tangled mess? It’s a common problem. Luckily, you can easily use binder clips to group them together, and then have them hang behind your desk out of sight. To make things even easier, label each cord with different colored tape, such as red for the computer, blue for the printer, and green for the monitor. It will make things run smoother. Use items you already have for extra storage. Be creative with storage ideas. Empty paint cans or boxes can be used as modern cubbyholes on shelves.  Use them to hold outgoing and ingoing mail and to-do lists. This prevents excessive paper from piling up over your desk. If you’re looking some cool storage ideas for your office, Refresh Organizers & Designers can offer some suggestions.
