Mount Shasta, at an elevation of 14,179 feet, is a potentially active volcano at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California.
What is your favorite way to travel during the pandemic? Is it backpacking or staying in a remote AirBnB? Even better, try www.hipcamp.com and go glamping near a wilderness area. Are you traveling by car and extending your "shelter-in-place" pod with some designated close friends? Here is a video of my trek to the top of Mt. Shasta last weekend with my daughter, Kendall, and her friends! [embed]https://youtu.be/tq_BAUXyCfE[/embed]
Thailand Beach near Karibi, Thailand
Regrettably, foreign travel may be prohibited for U.S. Citizens due to many countries limiting travel only from countries that have low Covid-19 cases. Thailand, for example, is considering a travel bubble scheme to countries that are low-risk, meaning free from the pandemic for 30 days, according to the World Health Organization. Thailand's international airport, Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok, unveiled rapid coronavirus tests that will be offered for some overseas arrivals. The test costs 3000 baht (about $96 US dollars) and you get results while waiting at the airport in 90 minutes. You can begin your trip to a designated vacation area, like Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, or Krabi provided everyone on your flight passes the rapid COVID test. Thailand's elimination of most COVID, as of this writing, is attributed to 95% of Thai's wearing face masks in public and a culture where medical professional guidance is held in high regard. Let's hope Thailand's visitor and rapid test arrangement is so successful that it may allow COVID free visitors from the United States soon!
