I overheard a sales conversation with a potential client not too long ago, and the prospect said, “We won’t be shopping during the summer, as that’s our slowest time.” I jumped in and said, “Are you laying off your employees or customers over the summer, too?”
The fact is that you can’t let your guard down when it comes to your customers. Never. Ever. Period.
If your employees learn that they are not being measured, they won’t perform. It’s a fact of life. We all do it.
As teenagers, many of our classmates did the bare minimum to get by in school. Others, like you and me, applied ourselves and got a lot more out of our educational experience.
My advice is to keep up any and all measurement techniques you have at your disposal, everyday! The business you save may be your own!
