I was talking to one of our clients the other day asked them how things were going. The responded that they were doing quite well. They had utilized some of our training programs to identify opportunities they were overlooking.
As part of one of the exercises, the entire team brainstormed ways to welcome additional customers who might not even think of coming in. A new employee, who worked in the back room, had said that she thought people should be welcome to bring their dogs (on a leash) into the store. The other employees agreed and they set out on their quest to implement this idea.
To make a short story shorter, they’ve seen and increase of 5-7 customers every day because of this “pet friendly” policy. These are the ones they can track back! These customers are spending more, on average, than their “usual” customers. How much did it cost? $6.95! (The cost of a dog dish at a local pet store)
When was the last time you implemented a change in your business that produced new customers that cost less than $7? Even better, when was the last time a brand new, entry level employee came up with an idea that produced a regular stream of revenue?
