Summer is winding down here in Wylie, TX, which means people are starting to make their way back outside for our two weeks of fall weather. Soon, we will be setting up our trade show booths at festivals (including the great State Fair of Texas), and getting back out on the golf course before our foliage goes from green to brown.
What Types of Signs Do I Need for a Golf Tournament?
Many golf tournament organizers underestimate the types of signs they will need for the tournament. After all, signs are just one small part of it compared to the catering and the prizes, right?
Many of these tournaments are connected to a charity or a corporate culture. If that much money is associated with the event, you need to make sure the appropriate groups are branded and recognized so they see their return on investment.
Stake Signs
The obvious answer for signs at a golf tournament is hole sponsor stake signs. For charity tournaments, the organizing group will solicit sponsors to donate a set amount to the charity, in exchange for their name at one of the tee boxes. This is a great marketing tool for local businesses and an inexpensive option for the organizers!
Banner Signs
Another common display option is a banner sign. Many groups will place this near the entrance to the course to advertise the name of their tournament, and possibly recognize some of the bigger sponsors.
Table Covers
In my opinion, the prizes are the best part of any golf tournament (but I may be a little on the competitive side). What better marketing opportunity than when the players are at their happiest? If they come to collect their prize, they should see your company or tournament logo on the prize table.
Canopy Tents
If you play golf in Texas, or anywhere in the Southern U.S. states, it’s likely to be sunny and hot from June to September. That’s why branded canopy tents are such a great idea. I’ve seen them used for registration tables outside of the tournament, or even for specialty games at certain tee boxes so the workers can stay cool. The best part about having these is that you can use them for more than just this tournament. If you have any outdoor company event, these can be reused and are very handy!
Step and Repeat
Never miss a good photo op again! Every organization should have a Step and Repeat for their events. It’s the perfect branding tool, because every picture your attendee takes is going straight to their social media account, and your organization name will be there with it. For those who aren’t familiar with this type of signage, this is what you typically see on the red carpet with business names all over it. It’s a perfect marketing and photo opportunity for any event!
