Recent Projects At SignSmiths of Texas! Hi everybody! Business is really picking up in Wylie, Texas, and it’s a lot of fun! In case you didn’t know what all we could do at a custom sign shop, let me highlight our top projects this week. Stained Glass Look-Alike First, we have a really unique project. In Royce City, Texas there is a beautiful church that’s over 120 years old. It has well kept yellow paint on the old wooden planks and colorful stained glass windows. One of the church members approached SignSmiths with an issue relating to the stained glass. Turns out, there is one window that doesn’t have a pointed top, and the man wanted to make that window look more uniform with the other points. The other challenge was that there was a solid wall where this other point would theoretically go, so we had to match the colors in the stained glass to make it look as close to the others as possible. Using a cardboard template traced over the very fragile existing window, we were able to cut a piece of PVC to the right size. From there, we converted a picture of the window to the correct size and recreated the colors on our wide format printer. Final product? See for yourself!       Promotional Window Vinyl At SignSmiths, we are always looking for a way to get more involved in the community. We attend several networking events to find more ways to help other businesses in the area. One of these businesses we have networked with is Vu’s Custom Clothier in Plano, Texas. Recently Vu’s was looking for a way to transform their well-tinted windows into prime advertising space. Together, we crafted a plan to upgrade this space with custom window vinyl. Being a shop that sells suits, he was subject to seasonal changes and needed something that he could switch out a few times per year. He also had a very dark tint on his windows that didn’t allow customers to see inside very easily. By creating custom window graphics we not only gave the customers a glimpse into the quality of products they might find in the shop, but we also were able to advertise his seasonal sale just in time for Black Friday shoppers. His customers took notice IMMEDIATELY! I had to run back to the truck for an extra tool during installation, and a couple walking past from one of the nearby stores complimented us on our work.
