As a Senior Care Advisor here in Walnut Creek, I’ve seen how difficult it is when a family reaches that point and the moment they realize their aging parent or loved one needs more care than they can provide at home.
I work one-on-one with families across Contra Costa and Alameda counties to help them navigate senior living options, including everything from independent living to assisted living, memory care, and board and care homes. And I do it with one goal in mind: to make the process clearer, easier, and more personal.
What most families don’t realize at first is that this isn’t just about finding a place but about finding the right place. Every senior has different health needs, care needs, and personality traits. Some thrive in vibrant communities with lots of activities. Others may need more support with memory care or daily living. My role is to really get to know each situation, assess what’s needed, and guide families to the places that match, not just on paper, but in real life.
This is a very hands-on process. I don’t sit back and send brochures or links. I actually get in the car with families and tour the communities alongside them. I point things out. I ask the questions they might not know to ask. And when it comes to pricing? I help there too. I advocate for the families I work with and often negotiate on their behalf.
The part that surprises people most? There’s no fee. Families never pay me for this guidance. I’m compensated by the communities themselves, which allows me to offer full support at no cost to the people who need it most.
Over the years, I’ve walked alongside so many children and people trying to make the right decision while balancing work, their own families, and the emotions that come with this kind of transition. They’re often exhausted and unsure. My job is to take some of that weight off their shoulders and help them move forward with confidence.
If you’re in the Walnut Creek area and facing senior care decisions, I’d be honored to help you, too. There are options out there that might be a better fit than you expect; you just need someone who knows how to find them.

Hi, my name is Mike Awadalla. I am a senior placement agent with CarePatrol. I help people find Senior Living options. Options such as independent living, assisted living, dementia care, and Residential Care Facilities. We work with all the facilities in Contra Costa and Alameda County, and we help people figure out the best fit for their elderly loved ones. Each family and each senior is going to be a unique case, so we help them figure it out after doing an assessment and understanding the health issues and the care issues that are needed for the senior. We usually work with adult seniors. I’m sorry, the adult children of seniors. We work with them, we tour with them in our own car, and we negotiate pricing on their behalf. We do all that for a free service; we are compensated by the senior living communities. Thank you
