Get Bold Events is "a non-profit organization based in Battle Ground, Washington that designs, organizes, and manages athletic events that benefit local charities." Their newest annual event is the Blooms to Brews Half Marathon & 10K Run in Woodland, WA. The 10K is just over 6 miles long and the half marathon is a little over 13 miles long. This year it was held on April 21
st and we were pleased to sponsor and make Mile Marker Event Signs featuring encouraging messages to keep the runners motivated. With a mile marker sign every mile for both the half marathon and 10K event, in all, we made just under 20 mile marker signs.
Rather than simply making plain old mile marker distance signs, we decided to make ‘Signs of Encouragement’ that feature a bright color scheme with eye-catching backgrounds, the distance, and encouraging phrases that sometimes included a little humor. Below is an image featuring all the signs.

For their events, Get Bold Events covers everything from planning out the entire course, to providing high-quality shirts, finisher medals, goodie bags, prizes, photos, and a great post-party with a DJ or live music.
As it turned out the "Signs of Encouragement" were a hit with the racers, and we received quite a few positive comments. Below are a few of them:
“I loved the markers, the best mile markers I've seen on a race yet.”
“They were exactly accurate, I laughed at a few of the comments.”
“Those were awesome! I was tempted to go ‘take’ mile marker 13!”
