Signs, like most things, vary widely in prices depending on their construction, longevity, types of production, and of course, the company making the sign. The biggest dividing line in prices is between temporary and permanent signs.
Signs that are intended for short-term, one or two time use, tend to be less expensive because they are made of lower cost materials, can be quickly produced, and often times have less grapic design and planning time needed. These types of signs include banners, posters, special event signs, and yard signs. They are typically mounted on less expensive, shorter lived materials like coroplast, PVC, or foamcore board. These types of signs tend to be less environmentally friendly because they usually wind up in the landfill and are not biodegradable. There are recycled materials available for these signs and Sign Solutions can help guide you to more eco-friendly sign alternatives.
Permanent signs are the ones you see on buildings, monument signs, lobby signs, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), dimensional letters, lightboxes, sandblasted, and vinyl graphics (windows, floors, walls, vehicles, etc). The price that your pay for the sign will depend on the complexity of the design, the method of construction, the materials used in the production process, installation time, and any city or county permits (if necessary). Any sign company should provide you with a complete estimate of the project including the prices for all of the individual components prior to the start of any work.
The materials and processes used in permanent signs may or may not be environmentally friendly. Sign Solutions uses only eco-friendly materials and processes, and recommends that you check with several sign companies about their commitment to sustainability before selecting a company for your signage needs.
Price discounting is a practice that can be used to induce new business, but is often used to disguise poor service, or lower quality products. Some sign companies offer discounts to new customers, certain types of businesses, or may quote a price and then discount it just to earn the business. Sign Solutions believes this is a misleading practice that tells the client that their product is not worth the original price quoted. We provide price estimates for all projects with the prices reflecting our best efforts to minimize cost while providing the client with the maximum value for their investment. While we b805elieve that arbitrary discounting is not fair to the client, we do believe in giving back to our communities through the use of discounts to certain types of benevolent organizations including charitable, service, community, and educational groups. This is our way of being a responsible business citizen.
Sign Solutions would encourage you to consider all variables when selecting a sign company including, service, product quality, selection, long term commitment...not just price.
