College football fandom is huge in the midsouth. Tennessee has not one but two schools in the SEC – arguably the greatest conference in the nation – and one of those schools is UT Knoxville, which has a national championship under its belt. And no one takes more pride in this than Greg: a Middle Tennessee resident, Freeland Chevrolet Sales Manager, and diehard Volunteer fan who likely sings “Rocky Top” in his sleep.

The Product: Lumamedia "T"

Greg approached Palladium Signs because he wanted to sample their Lumamedia car product and test its overall effectiveness. For Greg, a Volunteer football fan who bleeds orange, the design was a no-brainer: mount UT’s signature “T” on his truck’s cab window.

The Process: Laser Cutting and Replication

For Palladium, executing this request meant taking a straightforward approach. The “T” was laser cut to accurately replicate the distinct UT Vols branded shape. Then, Palladium put a translucent print over the “T” to give it both color and weather resistance. Next, they meticulously applied the Lumamedia decal directly to the cab window, though it could also be applied to paint and then removed without damage. Lastly, Palladium powered the luminescent “T” and gave it four options for display: on-off, fast blink, slow blink, and fade options.
