This is Mario Altiery with Upside Group Franchise Consulting, coming to you from our headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona. We serve the entire country for all your franchise consulting needs, including franchise development (which is franchise sales) and creating franchise documentation and strategy to roll out your brand.
Today, I want to come to you with some information on a client of ours that’s having great success. This is C2 Tactical. They have two locations in Tempe and Scottsdale, Arizona.
C2 Tactical is a gun range that offers a lot of educational classes. They have simulators, tons of retail, and, of course, live shooting ranges. Ammunition is also available for purchase. It’s a great, really high-end, well-done gun range and educational platform.
Unfortunately, they started out around the time COVID was going, and this is a pricey brand – to open a C2 tactical, it’s going to be somewhere between five million to upwards of six and a half million dollars, depending on real estate, landlord contributions, and a few other factors. It’s not an inexpensive franchise—even though it’s a very high-volume, successful brand, it does cost a little more than most to get into.
With all that being said, they started up at an inopportune time. So, we changed the model and adjusted some things, and then, of course, they ran right into the hyperinflation that we had after that, which is not good for a brand at this cost level. But we were able to work through that as well, and they sold their first franchise. And they had a tremendous amount of interest. But, as you can imagine, with this type of brand, we had really to sift through to find the right person. We employed a lot of the techniques we use to line up our franchisor with the right franchisee. We found the right one out of thousands of inquiries, and now C2 Tactical is off and running.
They have a bunch more lined up behind it, and we expect them to experience a lot of growth moving forward. Although, it will likely be at a different pace than most, due to the cost and the nature of the business. They will be very discerning about who they approve.
This is another brand to keep an eye on—a very successful brand with a ton of interest. We expect to see a lot of powerful growth from them as well.
