These classes are specifically designed for new gun owners who are looking to get the fundamental knowledge about using these firearms for self-defense. In partnership with the USCCA, we offer these classes to anyone who is looking for them. All you need is a pen and paper.
Self-Defense Firearm Basics Classes
This class is designed for new gun owners. Our expert instructors will introduce you to the different types of firearms that can be used for personal self defense. This includes shotguns, handguns, and AR-15s.
Students in this class will not be on the range. The purpose of this class is to give you a fundamental understanding of the various firearm types and how they can be used for defensive tactics. You must bring a pen and paper with you to this course.
Home Defense Plan
We also offer a home defense plan course which is meant for anyone who is considering owning a firearm for self-defense purposes. This includes Concealed Carry Citizens. In this class you will learn about conflict avoidance and situational awareness with a specific focus on home security and defense.
We will have an in-depth look at the firearms discussed in the basics class and continue to talk about shooting fundamentals, the physiology of violent encounters, and the legal information about using deadly force. Please bring a pen and paper to this course for note taking and to help develop your personal home defense plan.

As an official partner of the USCCA Academy, we are proud to be able to offer certified USCCA courses to our students. The U.S. Concealed Carry Association is committed to helping responsible citizens keep themselves and their families safe through self-defense and other CCW resources.
If you are a CCW citizen or permit carrier, we highly recommend checking out our other USCCA-partnered courses. Each one is specifically designed to cover a separate part of the CCW lifestyle and enhance your ability to protect yourself and others.
Firearm Basics Courses at Our Range
Outside of self-defense and USCCA, we have our own firearm basics courses as well. These courses are less focused on the defensive tactics you can use a firearm for, instead focused on advancing your shooting abilities. These courses teach you the fundamental knowledge and skills regarding a firearm and can help you feel more comfortable and ready when taking the self-defense courses.
We highly encourage you to check out these courses before proceeding onto the self-defense options. Without the fundamental knowledge of handgun operation and safety, the self-defense course may be difficult to keep up with. Nothing can replace the live-fire drills and expert instruction that you get with the basics courses. Translating these basic skills into self-defense manuevers becomes easy after that.
