Time on the range doesn’t have to be solitary, in fact we encourage you to make it family time! Our range is open to anyone of any age as long as people under 21 years old are accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.
To make bringing your family to the range easier, we now offer family & youth firearm training courses. These classes are taught by our professional and NRA-certified instructors. They are the best in the industry and will make it easy for you and your kids to understand firearms and range time.
These classes are open to anyone whether you have shooting experience or not. Whether this is your first adventure to the range as a family, or you want to introduce your kids to a life-long passion, there’s space for everyone to come and learn!
Glock Maintenance
Our first youth preparedness class is Glock Maintenance. As the name suggests, students in this class learn everything they could possible need to safety maintain, store, and fire a Glock pistol.
Taught by our certified Glock armorer, by the end of this class every student will know the basics of how to completely disassemble, reassemble, and clean a Glock in a deeper manner than simple field stripping.
Along with going deep into the mechanics of a Glock firearm, this class also discusses installation of drop-in items and other compatible accessories. We cap this class at 10 students so that as much 1-on-1 instruction between instructor and students can be had.
Family Firearm Safety
The first class of our Family Protection series is designed to meet your family needs and spark discussion about firearm safety in the home. Youth students in this class will learn the basics of safe gun handling and storage including the universal firearm safety code.
After that the class turns to individual family needs surrounding firearms in the home and what to do if you find firearms in a different home. Additionally, we will cover the best ways to be prepared as a family with children living at home.
Practical skills taught in this class include being able to identify different firearm types, knowing the protocol for how to deal with an unattended firearm, and understanding your family guidelines surrounding firearms in the home. This class must be attended as a family unit to be able to fully take advantage of the instruction and discussed topics.
Youth Introduction to Firearms
The final class we offer for families is meant to introduce youngsters with zero shooting experience to the world of firearms and the range. It doesn’t matter whether you as a parent have shooting experience or not, this class is beneficial for all families wanting to go on the range together.
Practical skills include performing a safety check, loading/unloading a magazine and firearm, and shooting on the range. Through dry practice and live-fire drills, kids learn the basics of operating a firearm and marksmanship while parents get the opportunity to learn how to best coach your child in shooting and keep them safe on the range.
