At our indoor gun range, we are proud to offer family & youth training classes where the whole family can learn about gun safety and handling together. We know that it can be hard to bring your kids to the range given their young age and restrictions, that’s why we offer these classes for you to help teach your kids about the wonderful world of firearms without restrictions on their actions and abilities. These classes are specifically designed for parents and kids to do together. We teach the kids the fundamental skills they need to be safe on the range and handle different firearms, and parents learn how to make the most of family shooting time while keeping everyone safe. The teaching instruction is a combination of classroom time and range live-fire drills depending on the class you choose. Family Firearm Safety The first class in our youth & family training series is the Family Firearm Safety class. It is 2 hours in the classroom learning the basics of safe gun handling and storage. During this class each family will have time to discuss their individual needs and expectations of their kids around firearms in your home, someone else’s home, and on the range. Youth Introduction to Firearms The second class in our Family Protection Courses is the Youth Introduction to Firearms. This class is much more hands on with range time and live-fire drills. It is designed for kids with no previous experience shooting, but who have parents who may or may not have shot before. Students will learn how to perform a safety check, load/unload a magazine, load/unload a firearm, and how to safely shoot on the range. Parents will learn how to manage their kids on the range and keep them safe while still having fun. Glock Maintenance Our last family & youth training class is focused on the Glock pistol. This class will give you and your kids a comprehensive guide on the best practices for maintaining this pistol. It includes notes on how to disassemble the pistol safely and knowing how to clean the firearm. This class is taught by our certified Glock armorer who has the training and experience to be certified for this instructional position. They will help you understand the basics of a complete break down of a Glock pistol and know how to reassemble it beyond the standards of your basic field stripping. Best of all, there is no prerequisite to this class. You and your kids won’t need to have ever shot on Glock pistol before to be eligible to learn the intricacies and nuances of this firearm. It’s a great and detailed introduction to the Glock, which is a great beginner firearm for new shooters. This class has a maximum of 10 students so that everyone can get lots of 1-on-1 instruction, so book your spot today. We provide the Glock disassembly tool, but you will need to bring your own Glock pistol. A cleaning kit is recommended for you to bring as well, but not required.
