There are many reasons we offer ladies only shooting. We understand that women self-defense is a necessity in the world today. Being able to carry and use a firearm effectively can make ladies feel safer and more confident while going about their day-to-day lives. They are able to ensure their own safety. Additionally, it can be scary or intimidating to be shooting around men, as we focus on women safety and necessity of defense mainly against men. This is why we offer ladies only shooting to ensure a safe space for women to grow their skills and feel more confident in their firearm abilities.
Our first class is the women’s basic pistol course designed for the beginning shooter. It is meant to help women learn the fundamentals about handguns and their operation safely and accurately. It focuses on handgun safety including unloading and loading a semi-automatic pistol as well as shooting fundamentals like breath control, stance, and follow-through. Then, the class moves to applying the fundamental skills into practice in the classroom and on the range. After taking our basic pistol course, women will be able to shoot consistent groupings at 10-18ft.
The next class in our three-series ladies only shooting moves to intermediate handling and operation of the pistol. We have specifically designed this class around the fundamentals learned in the basics course to ensure that skills are buildable and can advance easily. In this course women learn more about specific firearms such as the differences between semi-automatic pistls and revolvers. Afterwards students are introduced to holster options for concealed and carry as well as establishing boundaries by using the color codes of awareness.
While our intermediate class does not specifically focus on the operation of firearms, knowing your way around the industry and the lifestyle of being a shooter is as essential as the shooting itself. Things like survivor mindset and establishing boundaries can make the difference in certain situations.
The third class in this series is women’s defensive pistol. It is meant for those who want to learn more about the defensive side of shooting and take the next step with their skills. This fundamental defensive course build on the mindset of Avoid, Escape, and Defend and being a responsibly armed female. Along with that, students learn about the justifiable use of force in self-defense situations and can learn how to approach conflict if ever confronted and women need to defend themselves. Along with these concepts, women in this class will understand shooting from a high compressed ready position and multiple different loading and reloading methods.
