Phoenix, AZ – Financial Management Coaching Fixes Cash Flow for Owners

SYNOPSIS: Two client patterns show how financial management coaching turns guesswork into recurring revenue. Danny Creed on marketing spend you cannot defend and the numbers nobody bothers to track.

Fixing Cash Flow With Financial Coaching

BY: Danny Creed, Danny Creed

A commercial building services company came to me stuck. Good start, then flat. Revenue sat at $37,500 a month in recurring billing and wouldn’t move off it. The owners had stopped working on the business and started living inside it, dealing with the same handful of problems every morning.

We began by rebuilding their vision for the company, then went into the Clarity module hard. What surfaced had nothing to do with how much they were spending. Their clients had changed, and their market had changed. Nobody had checked in a while. Some of their marketing tactics still worked. Others had quietly stopped working years earlier and kept getting funded anyway, because nobody was looking.

Billing went from $37,500 per month recurring to

63,000 per month recurring.

The pattern underneath

Cash flow problems rarely announce themselves as cash flow problems. They show up as a tired owner, a stale offer, and a set of expenses nobody has questioned since the year the company started.

A dentist I worked with was spending

10,000 a year on marketing. He knew it wasn’t working, and he’d known for a while. What he didn’t know was what else to do, so the spending continued, because stopping felt riskier than continuing.

We got clarity on every phase of his business. Who the current customer was. Who the customer should be. How those people go looking for information. How new patients get found and sold. The marketing budget dropped by

00,000, and the practice grew 42 percent.

The money he’d been spending was going to people who were never going to buy from him, and once he could see that plainly, the decision made itself.

Where owners lose visibility

Most owners can tell you last month’s revenue. Fewer can tell you which service line produced it. Fewer still can tell you what a customer costs to acquire, or which recurring expense stopped earning its keep two years ago.

When I coach on financial management, the early work is unglamorous. We build a tracking process so the owner knows at any given moment what the business is accomplishing, rather than finding out at quarter close or whenever the accountant happens to call.

One small business owner I worked with had stagnated for years and was waiting for clients to come to him. We built acquisition and retention programs, and a tracking process behind both. The first year doubled the business, with a five-year plan and clear projections behind it.

Money mindset is part of the machinery

Finances overwhelm people. Most owners feel they don’t earn enough. Plenty are carrying debt they’ve stopped looking at directly.

Limiting beliefs about deservingness and scarcity drive real decisions. Underpricing. Avoiding the collections call. Refusing to invest in the thing everyone on the payroll knows the company needs. I use coaching exercises that surface those self-sabotaging patterns, because a perfect spreadsheet won’t help an owner who’s unwilling to raise a rate.

Customized, because general advice rarely fits

Financial lives differ. Incomes, debt loads, family dynamics, goals. General money advice bounces off most owners for exactly that reason.

I work with clients to build management strategies fitting their actual situation. We look at the current picture honestly, find the vulnerable spots, and identify pathways nobody has explored yet. Reworking an investment approach counts. So does cutting a fixed cost. Run the numbers on each and let the numbers pick.

What changes once the numbers are visible

Speed matters in business. Because your data is already organized, you can stop overthinking and start making choices that actually move the needle. Understanding your individual line margins gives you the confidence to handle any pricing debate with ease. The monthly cutoff loses its power to ruin your weekend plans.

As a Certified Master Business Coach and Certified Executive Coach with finance industry and entrepreneurship experience behind me, I’ve seen the money issues owners and executives run into over and over. Most of them are solvable. Almost none are solvable while the owner is still avoiding the numbers.

Business owners across Phoenix and the greater Maricopa County area hit these same walls, whatever industry they’re in.

I’m Danny Creed. Pick your worst financial blind spot, the one you’ve been steering around for months, and bring it to a free discovery session. We’ll start there.
