The Issue
A client belonging to the insurance industry contacted me with the intent to build an insurance business for employee benefits. Note that the insurance industry is currently dominated by giant corporations that have been in the field for years. Our client believed that no matter how strong their foundations are, they offered the same insurance services and products to their prospects and clients. In an era of advanced technology, they use standard and dated methods to design insurance policies. My client believed that he could achieve success in a competitive industry by offering products and services that were unique, advanced, and customized. In addition, being a devoted, passionate, and skilled entrepreneur, he believed that he could bring change to an outdated industry.
The Solution
Since our client had a unique and futuristic vision, the only thing he needed was strong guidance. So I designed a strategic business development plan, and together we implemented it. Our business startup plan was intended to build a company from the ground up with the lowest possible budget. Critical factors of the program included skills training. We targeted essential skills were powerful Priority Management and Time Management training.
I helped my client name the company and create sales materials, a sales story, a media kit, and a marketing plan. Next, we established both short and long-term goals. I then helped my client execute the business plan step by step to ensure success.
The Result
By mixing marketing and selling strategies and using our unique and captivating services, we quickly grabbed the attention of two clients. These clients were world-class organizations struggling to deal with old-school insurance providers in the market. They were frustrated with dated methods of operating and expensive services that were not even beneficial for them.
Three months after executing our plan, we signed a contract with our first client, and a month later, we signed another contract with another client. Within the first six months, my client generated nearly $7 million in premium, eventually growing to $25 million in their first year.
