Business coaching is essential for the growth of every business. As a business owner, you need to learn and understand what it takes to run and scale your business successfully. An important aspect of business growth is setting goals and achieving them. A family-owned shoe store distributing shoes for a renowned shoe brand has been in business for more than 15 years. The shoe store has experienced very little growth over the years, and even though the owner had good knowledge of shoes, there was no equivalent business knowledge.  The owner of the store worked hard in the store but didn’t work as hard on the growth and development of the store. The store owner decided to hire a business coach to help boost the store's growth. We got to work on the store and developed a program tailored to working with the store owner and other important staff members. This exercise was aimed at helping the business owner and staff members understand how to think, plan, and act like an entrepreneur. We established goals and came up with a structure to keep track of our successes; this way, everyone would be able to see the results and differentiate good from great. We also employed an active General manager who did the job of keeping the employees on their toes and holding them accountable for achieving their targets. The result of our hard work was recognized in 2019 when the store was awarded the number 1 store in the United States. The shoe store has recorded a 40% year-to-year growth. We are still working to remain number 1 and for even more growth this year and in more years to come. Setting and achieving goals is essential for business growth. There are several benefits of goal settings that take a business from one level to the next such as;

Goals give business owners a sense of direction and something tangible to work towards. It eliminates the tendency of going round in circles with little or no results.

●     Focus

Every growing business has a lot to work on, and goals will help business owners focus on one task at a time or ensure optimum results.

●     Time freedom

Goal setting gives business owners more time to work on a particular aspect of their business before moving on to the next. Every business needs a business coach. One skill a business stands to gain from business coaching is goal setting. A business coach will teach the business and employees how to set achievable goals and push them towards achieving the set goals. A business coach will help set goals, make plans for achieving them, and set out to act on the plans while holding the business owner and other staff members accountable for their roles in achieving set goals.
