Signs for San Diego’s thing! We do a boat load of them and there is a good reason why. Travel Trust in Carlsbad is a great example. Travel trust is an international travel agent with offices and personal overseas. The problem is there signs were old and tired. While the company is growing, the signs were deteriorating. Travel trust wanted to update their image without taking out a loan to do it. We recently did exactly this for them with a refaced sign.

Re facing a sign is great because: You already own the substrate of base of the sign, you don’t normally need a new one, just the face. We use vinyl and a strong laminate that will give years of service and renew the sign. Using vinyl is great because any image in any color can be printed on it. Vinyl is versatile. It is zero maintenance. No wonder smart companies purchase vinyl refaced signs every day.
Signs for San Diego uses several 2 basic kinds of vinyl, cut vinyl and digital print vinyl. Which is better? Great question. It depends.
Cut vinyl has the color through 100% of the material. It wears well and is great for solid letters and shapes. It is an older technology, but durable, and works great. It has a limitation – it is not usable for photos, gradients or complex designs.
Digital prints start with a white vinyl, and colored ink is printed on it. We can produce any color and great photos, gradates and remarkable detail. It has a couple of weaknesses. Without laminate, it will fade, but with laminate, it lasts a long long time.
Travel trust used a digital print with a laminate. They have a new look at a great price.
