The center provides educational opportunities through classes and workshops to expand the community's knowledge, application, and connection with spiritual principles. Participants of any age can participate in these educational experiences to dive deeper into the deep transformations that the Science of Mind philosophy can have on their lives. Spiritual Development Core Curriculum Core classes at the Oakland Center are offered on a trimester basis: January, May, and September; registration openings are in April, August, and November. Core class teachers are seasoned practitioners who guide their students in an in-depth exploration of spiritual principles and practical tools for everyday life. Every class can delve into topics like the nature of God, the principles of the Science of Mind, and how those principles are applied in everyday life. Foundational Classes and Beyond For newcomers to the community or those who want to refresh their thoughts, there is "Principles and Practices." This class provides an introduction to basic practices, which, if applied effectively, help manifest certain goals or intentions. Another core class is "Beyond Limits," which actually turns out to be a predecessor of all advanced classes. It focuses on applying spiritual key concepts in life challenges by enhancing clarity and decision-making. Advanced Studies and Professional Development It offers an extensive journey of self-discovery in an intensive 30-week "Advanced Consciousness Studies" for deeper searches. This study prepares you for the Professional Prayer Practitioner Studies and includes a self-reflection questionnaire, a review of completed certificated classes, and an interview. It is an advanced program to foster personal responsibility, the power of choice, and structured spiritual practices. Workshops, Spiritual Enrichment Courses Spiritual enrichment courses and workshops from the center provide brief, practical educational experiences best suited to those who would like to "get their feet wet" in spiritual education. They range from three to six hours and cover a wide spectrum of topics, allowing you to maximize your understanding within that short period of time. These courses are also offered as in-person and via Zoom classes to allow for a greater range of participants. Hybrid Learning Options Knowing how imperative accessibility is, almost all courses and workshops at Oakland Center are offered in a hybrid model that offers an in-center presence as well as online formats. No matter where the participants might be physically located, they have a chance to engage in the material and become part of the community. Online participants need pre-registration to create a warm and prepared welcome environment for everyone.
