Any time you may have planned a camping trip with your family, it would be safe to say there are some very enjoyable parts of planning, preparing, and packing, and some not so enjoyable parts! For example, deciding what activities your family will enjoy around the nature trails versus taking a look at the condition of the family's tent. Once the tent comes out, the next couple of hours are more than likely filled with struggling with all of the poles, strings, and flailing wires.

Staying a few nights in the tent on the campsite sounds like fun, but imagine leaving for work from or coming home from school to it! Now, that being said, you will end up coming home to the secure walls and clean environment of your house after the camping trip, but, did you ever consider the condition of your home that you can't see, such as the foundation beneath your floors?

As strong, straight, and tall a house may seem from the outside or from the confides of your comfortable living room, the most important part of your home, the foundation, can be affected by variables like the soil and elements around it. One way your foundation can be negatively affected is by the shifting of the soil outside the walls. The soil may shift because of a large amount of moisture that washes the soil away and creates a weakness or an immense pressure that can shift the foundation. Another way this can happen is from other interventions such as insect infestations that are eating away at the stability of the structure of your home.
