In today’s edition of our blog we are going to cover a major topic on haircuts these days. Many people use this term loosely and often not accurately enough. To illustrate our point we are going to discuss one of our favourite regulars, Jason. Like us, he is from Mississauga and he love great haircuts. Jason is moving into a new place, got a new job and if you are thinking, he is moving ahead in life, well, you would be right.
He has been coming to our store for about six months and at this point it’s fair to say, he really trusts our team of barbers and stylists. Anyhow, Jason asked us for a new look, something that would clearly project his growing level of confidence to the world. And here’s where the proper use of hairstyling terms comes into place.
After some discussion with Jason and confirming with our book of pictures we decided to go for a fade. Yes, a fade, not a taper. What’s the difference? Jason wanted us to go all the way to skin level and that’s why it’s a fade. Had he wanted some hair it would be called a taper! To complement his base cut we decided to go with a side part instead of a pompadour. Why? Well, Jason is in his twenties and you have to save the more serious looks for later in life.
Us being Sport Clips we asked him as usual to come back for his free neck trim in-between haircuts, which he did. It’s perfect for him because this is a nice cut that lends itself to look great when it gets regular, basic maintenance. And he told us that his new haircut had been a total success, both professionally and socially! What do you think?
