Prioritize Your Physical Health With Coaching

BY: Kerrie Hoffman, FocalPoint Business Coaching

Attaining professional success requires managing several other life areas, including physical health and fitness. When one aspect of your life is unfulfilling, the quality of all areas of life is affected.

Your health is a significant part of your life: without your health, you cannot work, and without optimal health, you will have a hard time reaching your full productive potential in your career. Additionally, your future with those you love will be cut short.

Similar to setting goals for developing optimal business practices and financial independence, the path to better physical health requires self-evaluation, identifying your vision, learning new skills, and staying committed.

Seven Secrets of Superb Health

  1. Achieve and maintain a proper weight by consulting your doctor to determine your ideal body weight.
  2. Eat a proper diet: eat different foods to obtain several nutrients and vitamins, consume lean protein like fish, chicken, and tofu, and drink enough water. Avoid white flour, sugar, and highly processed foods with too much-added sodium.
  3. Get enough proper exercise: 30-60 minutes, 3-5 times a week. A great FocalPoint for health is to aim for 200-300 minutes each week, which you can track to confirm your progression.
  4. Get enough rest and de-stress: adults need 7-8 hours of sleep and aim to take at least one full day off work each week. Take short vacations of 2-3 days as often as you can once a month and 1-3 week vacations every year.
  5. Take necessary nutritional and dietary supplements.
  6. Stop smoking if you smoke.
  7. Reduce and eliminate alcohol consumption.

Set Health and Fitness Goals

To set the most valuable health and fitness goals, pinpoint your long-term vision of your health: think about how much you weigh, exercise, the hours you sleep, and your physical activities. You will identify the critical factors to achieve those goals.

Next, identify where you are right now: pinpoint how much you weigh, how much you eat, how often you exercise, how much time you exercise, what kind of meals you consume, and more. Pick the areas of health and fitness that impact you the most and make them the FocalPoint of your health goals.

Increase Your Health Knowledge

Learn as much as possible about optimal nutrition and exercise by reading health and nutrition books, joining a fitness program, taking yoga classes, cooking classes, and more.

Create a Fitness Schedule

Plan and schedule activities that fulfill your physical health and fitness goals. Prioritize your health and fitness to increase your drive and concentration to improve your health and put off lower-value tasks to spend more time completing your activities.
