Project: Sign Refurbishing – Exterior Letters & Interior Lobby Desk Sign
Location: Lawrenceville & Marietta, GA
OnePath met with Signs & More, Inc to discuss options for their locations in Georgia and North Carolina. Since one logo was close to the new one and the other 2 were completely different, it created a challenge to make the best use of what existed and create new signs where required. This article covers part of the project and includes pictures of 2 signs we modified.
In June 2015 OnePath Systems, LLC merged with Endeavor Telecom and acquired BlueWave Computing. OnePath combines three Atlanta-based technology leaders across Building Technologies, Field Services, Advanced Technologies and Managed Services. One source for all things to do with designing, deploying, and supporting technology – from cable to cloud across North America. Providing IT support and managed services for fast-growing businesses.
In the top picture, you can see the existing sign has the systems tagline. The only change in the new logo was the removal of the “systems” and location of ONEPATH centered on the symbol. We recommended OnePath remove the tag line and lower the OnePath letters. The letters were centered with the circle logo. This saved the customer money on the wall signage reusing what they already had.
We were tasked with changing the logo on the reception desk in a lobby also. This desk was custom made with the letters carved through the wooden desk panel with lighting behind them, as you can see in the picture on the left. To add another level of complication, the desk is a large cylinder with no flat surface on the front. Our design team created a sign with brushed aluminum and vinyl lettering to cover over the existing logo. We used standoffs to hold the new sign out, using the existing lighting to add flair & dimension to the new sign, as you can see in the picture on the right. The brushed aluminum composite material used is approximately half the weight of aluminum, making installations easier too. It’s perfect for applications like this desk sign. The challenge was getting the existing lighting to shine from behind the panel.
Refurbishing an existing sign can be a less expensive alternative to manufacturing new signage.
Let the experts at Signs & More, Inc create a new signage plan, while being cognizant of budgets and sign codes. We can use existing lighting equipment in the new signage to create that “WOW” factor. Your refurbished sign will be readable, noticeable and effective.
