The lighting of your sign is just as important as its size and type. Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages to each type of lighting.
The most modern type is LED (Light Emitting Diodes). Its popularity is growing because of its higher efficiency, lower operating costs, less maintenance and improved reliability.
Neon is still quite prevalent in the sign industry in older signs. It works great in designs with many curves and bends, such as channel letters, but the operation costs are high. Bare neon provides a look that cannot be achieved with LEDs.
Box signs are traditionally lit with LFL (Linear Fluorescent Lamps). This type of lighting is inexpensive and gives a more even light source than LED, but it is slightly less efficient.
The oldest lighting method is gooseneck lamps. It is great for the retro look, to light flat signs such as PVC signs, or if permits and restrictions require it.
Whichever method of lighting you choose, Signs & More is here to help.
