Wraps are much less expensive than billboards to get 24/7 advertising and they are mobile so they are not stuck in one spot. However, they can be somewhat expensive. Depending on the size and complexity of the vehicle, wraps are usually between $2000 and $4000.
There are many things to consider when getting a vehicle wrap. Wraps are priced by amount of material used and the complexity of the vehicle being wrapped. So the less the area, the less the price and the flatter the surfaces, the less the price. Partial Wraps are less expensive than full wraps. If you have a vehicle that is colored according to the scheme of your logo (buy a vehicle that is one of your corporate colors already), the partial wrap (excluding part of the body and the side-view mirrors, etc.) is a less costly option.
An option to reduce total cost is to get an older vehicle and wrap it. Today there are many older vehicles that are not that attractive (maybe boxy with easy to wrap flat surfaces), yet run great. You can buy a vehicle to sit and get it wrapped like a billboard – just move it around every once in a while depending on ordinances. After applying a wrap, any vehicle looks much better. Wraps are more expensive than painting, but you get designs and patterns that painting does not do and you get your message out.
You do not want to sacrifice quality (material, installation and design) when choosing a vehicle wrap company. Wraps can be made with varied qualities of vinyl and can last less than 2 years to over 5 years. Installers need to have the proper experience and techniques to do the job right. Design is very important as well. You do not want a bad design (bad coloring, hard to read, etc.) advertising your business.
WHen you think about Wraps, you must consider the following statistics for alternative forms of advertising:
· Newspapers: $1300 /wk. 2” x 2” ad. Have a good local market exposure but are short lived and poor reproduction quality.
· Television: $200000 / 30 sec. Great mass market yet is extremely expensive for the return on investment.
· Direct mail: $1500 / 1000 4” x 6” postcard. High pinpoint market exposure and allows personification. Has “Junk Mail” image
· Radio: $90 – $12 / week. Highly geographic, demographic and selective, but is audio only and low attention notice.
· Magazines: $1200 – $5000 / month. Provides prestige and credibility with long shelf life. Is expensive with no guarantee of position.
· Billboards: $4000 – $500000 / 16 weeks. depending on demographic exposure. High repeat exposure, no competition. Limited audience selectivity, limited creativity.
· Online: $.60 – $10 / click or $1200 – $5000 / month. ( Does not include search engine option) Low cost, Immediacy, and interactive capabilities. Small demographically diverse audience, low impact, and audience controls exposure.
