Project: Custom Vehicle Wrap

Recently, we were contacted by Doug Heard, Principal Agent, at Service Insurance Group Agency located in Marshall, TX. He had just removed 8 year old vinyl graphics from his 2007 Honda FIT and was in the market for upgrading the Honda FITs vehicle advertising potential. Doug understood the value of low cost advertising that vehicle wraps offer.
In the picture above, you can see the design of the prior graphics installed on the Honda FIT. The 8 year old design is not a custom vehicle wrap, but rather print and cut graphics. The picture to the right shows the new custom car wrap design post installation. The difference is the new design is a full vehicle wrap. The entire car minus the windows is literally wrapped in premium vinyl film.
SIG Insurance Services opened its doors in Marshall, TX in February 2004. Principal Agent, Doug Heard, has been an insurance agent since 2000. Prior to joining SIG, he was an agent with Farm Bureau. SIGs mission is to marry the benefits of the larger insurance carriers with the benefits of local, down-home services. The agency strives to be a one stop shop for all of their customers’ insurance needs.
To start the project we first had to come up with design ideas. The process starts with an initial consultation with the client to get an idea of what message they want to convey. From the start Doug wanted to think outside the box and it was very important for him to put an emphasis on the phrase “RU SIG’n”. From there we made that the focal point on both the driver and passenger side of the car. For material we used Avery MPI 1005 Easy Apply RS combined with Avery DOL 1060 cast overlaminate. The typical life of a properly installed wrap is 5 years if proper care is considered. We always leave the client with a list of post install tips to ensure a long wrap life.
