Client: Wellness Practices of America
Recently, we were approached by Access Family Health and Wellness Practices of America to help them construct a sign that would allow their business to stand out. It was for their second location located on Judson Road in Longview, TX. They had a temporary banner hung, but felt they needed an illuminated sign that would give them a more noticeable, higher end look.
If you look at the picture on the left you will notice a substantial upgrade to a powerful, illuminated set of channel letters. On the right
is the original banner that was hung. You immediately notice the difference and can imagine the impact it will have on current and prospective patience as well as other passer byes on busy Judson Road.
Wellness Practices of America is a direct pay primary care practice specializing in family medicine and pediatrics. The traditional family practice was first established in Marshall Texas, they are now open in Longview with more East Texas locations to come in the near future. WPA offers memberships for a low monthly fee and with a full range of medical services offered it is a great way to save on the ever increasing health care cost.
To create the sign for WPA you first start with a flat sheet of aluminum that is custom cut with a router to form the back of the letter. Aluminum is the most common material used since it will not rust. The sides called returns are then bent using 5 inch wide aluminum. Once the returns are seamed together with the back of the letter it is then fitted with LED modules. The face of the letters are then cut from 3/16” acrylic. The red letters are cut from Plexiglas 2793 and the blue letters are cut from a white sheet of acrylic with 3M Scotchcal Translucent Intense Blue Vinyl applied with half an inch of the white acrylic still exposed. This allows for better illumination at night. Blue is typically hard on the eyes at night, especially from a moving vehicle, but leaving a slight outline gives it perfect illumination.
