Understanding Weight-Loss Plateaus

Weight loss is a common goal for many individuals seeking to improve their health and wellness. It is not uncommon to experience periods of rapid weight loss followed by a plateau, where progress seems to have come to a halt despite continued effort. Understanding weight-loss plateaus and how to overcome them is key to achieving long-term success.

A weight-loss plateau is a period of time during which the body appears to have stopped losing weight despite a sustained caloric deficit. The body is incredibly adaptable, and as it adjusts to new lifestyle changes and caloric deficits, it may eventually slow down weight loss to conserve energy.

Journaling: Sometimes, simply putting your thoughts down on paper can help you identify and manage your stress. We encourage our clients to keep a stress journal, recording their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors throughout the day. This can help them identify triggers and patterns, and develop strategies for managing stress more effectively.
