When we surveyed the location, we noticed that the reception area has an attractive white tile wall behind the desk. It would feature the sign that the client wanted to display with white lettering. To achieve this goal, we designed a scaled-down box cabinet that features dark sides.
The facing is also dark, which creates the backdrop needed for the white lettering to shine. With the LEDs hidden behind the darker facing, the white letters illuminate and stand out considerably. They match the white of the wall without being overshadowed by the color selection. Most importantly, the illuminated lobby sign succeeds in building the clinic’s brand.

LEDs are inexpensive to operate and last for a long time. Also, they come in a variety of colors. These qualities endear them to our clients when they select signs requiring illumination. Recently, they have begun ordering illuminated reception area signs, too.
In addition to the scaled-down cabinet, there are various other choices.
- Edge-lit signs. These are quite popular now. The design begins with a metal or painted acrylic board. Next, we add your corporate persona in the form of an imprinted vinyl overlay or three-dimensional letters. Finally, we hide the LEDs behind the edges of the board and install the product with standoffs.
- Backlit lettering. If you prefer the look of 3D letters without a panel, we recommend backlit lettering. This design results in a halo that illuminates each element separately. It looks chic and adds plenty of pizzazz to the space. Once again, we would use standoffs to mount the letters.
- Channel letters. These are scaled-down channel letters that could mimic what you feature on your building’s front. Because we may be able to hide the electrical components behind the wall, it is possible to flush-mount the lettering. If you are not a big fan of standoffs, you cannot go wrong with these sign options.
