School banners
School banners can be used to welcome students, celebrate anniversaries, announce the mission statement, and promote team spirit and academic integrity. Since the banner’s target audience would most likely be teenagers or kids, make it “cool” with images and / or text that appeals to them. Use popular colors coupled with a slogan the students would identify with even outside the school environment. For example when promoting a school event, you can use a slogan like “bring it on!”.
Church banners
Church banners serve a variety of purposes. Most religions have “season” such as Easter, Christmas, or Hanakuh. Put up banners that let the public know they are welcome to attend and provide the dates and times of these special services
Larger churches often have many different groups and events for adults, teens, and young children. First identify your target group. Not all designs will appeal to the different groups. A banner promoting a youth event would be more contemporary than a banner for a women’s religious study group.
Team banners
Sports team banners are an ideal way of showing support for your favorite player or team. You can either use small handheld banners or large full-color banners with the team name / logo and members’ names. Handheld banners are popular for sporting events and political rallies for their role in creating a festive atmosphere. A banner’s message can either be of support to the whole team or for a certain player with space for your favorite players to add their autographs. Banners congratulating the team for certain achievements can have graphical presentation of that achievement, e.g. a picture of a trophy.
Non-profit banners
Banners for non-profits are typically used to promote a fundraising event. Banners are ideal for lining the walk or race routes, branding events with the names of your sponsors, marking off volunteer areas and identifying service centers in case of emergency situations. Sponsors expect to get advertising out of the event. Large full-color banners advertising the event should prominently display the sponsors name and logo as well as the date, time, and location of the event.
