Several years back we made the pole sign faces for Springbok, a local bar and grill in the valley. Exterior sign faces do need upkeep since they are exposed to the sun and different weather conditions 24/7. Since it had been a while since the signs were originally made, they reached out to us for new sign faces, and to upgrade their pole sign from fluorescent lights to LED. Illuminated signs used to use neon or fluorescent, but newer signs typically use LEDs. While LEDs may be more expensive initially, they will help save money in the long run because they don’t use as much electricity.
New exterior signs need a city permit but if you are updating a sign, a permit is not necessary. New sign faces and LED conversions count as updates, so we were able to complete the job as soon as we made the new sign faces.
