Whether you are a retail store in a mall or a restaurant in a shopping center, your storefront presence is very important when it comes to attracting customers. If you are surrounded by other businesses, having an appealing storefront can help you gain new customers as people are driving or walking by your storefront. Chello Persian Cafe is a new Persian buffet that moved into an outdoor shopping center in Chatsworth, California, right on the corner of Lassen and De Soto. We had finished up their storefront sign and monument sign faces when they asked us for some window graphics. As you can see from the photos, we made them white vinyl lettering that spans across the storefront windows.
The reason we used white vinyl is that white stands out the best when being used for window lettering. If someone is interested in displaying their logo we will digitally print the colors, but for weeded lettering, white is best. We use Oracal brand 751 vinyl in white. The lettering is plotted, weeded, and application taped at our shop. We have used Oracal brand vinyl for years because we trust the quality and have consistently gotten a great finished product using it for our signs. Oracal 751 is opaque. For signs that are internally illuminated, we use Oracal 8500 which is their translucent vinyl.
Regarding the placement of the window graphics, we only used the middle and bottom sections of the top window panes. If we started from the very top of the windows, the lettering that was placed there would be covered up by the awning and you wouldn’t be able to read it unless you were right in front of the windows. We also didn’t utilize the bottom row of windows because we were putting up information that would need to be read, and it’s better to put words at eye-level where they are easier to read.
