Just recently, we received a call from Seven West DTLA Apartments in downtown Los Angeles. They were in need of some exterior signage that would bring attention to the fact that they were now ready to begin leasing their apartments. Instead of the tired old “For Lease” signs, Seven West wanted something more upscale to go along with their premier apartment units.
As you can see in the picture, they had good reason to be pleased with the results. Because the window space they had was plentiful, Seven West wanted to put those windows to good use with effective exterior window advertising. By alternating between a photo and the apartment’s information, the window graphics were easy to read – especially the eye-catching words and the phone number and website info.

To create the exterior window advertising, we took a good look at all of the window space available. We had 30 windows to work with, as the graphics were to span from one entrance to another. We decided to alternate a photo and the apartment information by dedicating three entire windows to the name of the apartment, the phone number, and the website.
Using lines like “NOW LEASING” and “HIGH-END APARTMENTS,” the signs get right to the point. And we used a good combination of font colors against a contrasting background.
We didn’t want to cover all of the windows with vinyl as that would have blocked out too much sunlight. The full window graphics were created using perforated vinyl. Looking from the inside out, you can see through these graphics and they allow in light. From the outside, the window graphics are not only eye-catching but also very easy to read.
