Honda America has a long-standing tradition of community participation throughout the United States. Honda America is committed to being a corporation the world wants to exist. Whether through the Team Honda Week of Service, or support of HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) academics and extra-curricular programs Honda America helps people flourish.
K Anthony School was founded in 1971 to provide a caring educational facility in the Inglewood community. K Anthony school has grown from a pre-school to an accredited pre-K, K-6 school.
Honda America chose Exemplar Signs & Graphics because a prior sign company declined to quote the out-of-the-box project. Honda project leaders Cheryl Crowder and Angelina Iyamah wanted silhouette images of children mounted onto the chain link fencing that separates the playground from the parking lot where student drop-off and pick-up takes place. To get the most out of the project they wanted the images on both sides of the fence so that the children playing in the playground could also appreciate them. Exemplar guided Honda to select cartoon images rather than actual child silhouettes to enhance the durability of the panels. That’s because real children have thin necks, arms and legs that might bend easily upon impact by a playground ball. Finally, since the event was an employee service event we designed a simple, tool-less, two-person installation technique.
The benefit of selecting a custom sign making company like Exemplar Signs & Graphics is that where the first sign company saw a project that did not fit into a standard production model, we caught and shared the vision of the Honda America team and got excited about making that vision a reality for the parents, students and staff at K Anthony School.
