Vehicle graphics on the roof of a truck, car, or other vehicle is a great way to draw attention to your graphic; not many people think of doing this, as graphic placement on the sides is most common. Of course, it all depends on the size of the car, and whether people can easily see the top.
If you have a vehicle that is lower to the ground, like a smaller car, those who pass your vehicle in a larger vehicle will be able to see your message. While parked on the side of the road, people who walk by will also be able to see the message from their elevated viewpoint, as will those folks looking down on the roof of your car from a multi-story building.
Since it’s not a commonly used placement, roof vehicle graphics might even grab more attention at a city stoplight than a large, splashy billboard. From an aesthetics viewpoint, vehicles wrapped in graphics already would do well to wrap the roof as well. An entirely wrapped vehicle with bright colors might attract the wrong kind of attention with a roof that does not match. Additionally, for those people who want to change the color of the car with a vehicle wrap as opposed to painting the entire car, wrapping the roof is obvious. For those customers who want just a door on a vehicle wrapped or just the hood wrapped, putting vehicle graphics on the roof may not fit into the budget nor the preferred aesthetics of the vehicle.
