Vehicle branding, through the application of graphics or full vehicle wraps, has grown significantly over the past decade. Before this, most of what was seen was cut black vinyl logos and phone numbers on the sides of service vans and pick-ups. If anyone branded a personal car, it was typically through a magnet that could be removed.
With the advent of vehicle wrap films, a whole new array of opportunities now exist for branding vehicles. We would recommend when making the decision, you consider three things.
- What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to get across just your basic company information, such as phone number and website? Or, are you trying to convey a message through pictures which give potential customers an idea of what it is you do or how your products or services could benefit them, such as using flowers for landscapers, dogs for pet groomers, or beach scenes for travel agents. Pictures are 1,000 times more memorable and powerful then just words. However, for some businesses, just the basic company information may just work fine.
Who is your target audience? Are you driving a lot of miles, or a few miles in a specific area? The number of “eyeballs” on your vehicle expands tremendously the more miles you drive. Here in the Atlanta area, if you are driving on the Interstates, your vehicle immediately becomes a rolling billboard with a high probability to make thousands of impressions on your target audience.
- How does this fit within the greater context of your advertising budget? Vehicle branding is an advertising expense just like billboards, print, media, etc. If you read our last blog, Vehicle Wraps are an Effective Use of Advertising Dollars, you know that vehicle branding is one of the most cost effective uses your advertising dollars. Does doing a full wrap with lots of pictures, create more potential for business? This would depend on the nature of your business and what you'd like to achieve.

Whatever your decision based upon the above criteria, when you get ready to move forward make sure you chose a company that has experience in creating a visually appealing branding of your vehicle to help you out .
