Clausen Enterprises is a thought leader in the successful management of shopping centers across the Southland. Over the years, we have collaborated with the client on projects, such as graffiti-proof “For Lease” window graphics and vinyl lettering. One reason this company’s shopping centers stand out is the highly effective signage.
Advertising and Brand Building With Translucent Graphics for Lightbox and Pylon Signs
Clausen Enterprises requires that new tenants use one of two vetted sign companies (yes, we are one of them). When La Carniceria, a high-end meat market, established its presence at the Norwalk shopping center, the business needed excellent signage. The twist is that this client needed the signs in time for their Mother’s Day grand opening celebration.
Could we do it? Of course! We visited the client’s location for a site survey, designed translucent black lettering and logo elements using 3M vinyl, and prepared the prints for installation. It is noteworthy that we used 3M’s pre-colored cast, translucent vinyl for this project because it lasts significantly longer in the full sun. The pre-colored vinyl contains the color throughout rather than being printed on white vinyl, which contributes to its longevity.
For this project, we delivered within a little over a week, allowing the client to have signage in place for the grand opening!
The Advantages of Pre-Colored Cast Vinyl
When fabricating translucent vinyl graphics in Norwalk or anywhere in Los Angeles and neighboring Orange County, pre-colored cast vinyl makes sense.
UV resistance. Direct sunlight exposure often causes print and graphics to fade. It gives darker colors a washed-out look. However, pre-colored cast vinyl retains its color longer, resists fading, and will not discolor over time. If your signage is exposed to consistent sunlight, pre-colored vinyl is a good option.
Excellent heat performance. Typically, when discussing heat exposure, we refer to the older light bulbs used in some signs. However, there are also heat concerns for dark vinyl on pylon signs exposed to direct sunlight. The vinyl expands and contracts with temperature changes. Pre-colored, cast vinyl protects your signage investment against cracking and adhesion failure.
Aesthetics. Printed black vinyl works perfectly for smaller signage products. However, when the material spells out your company’s name on large-format pylon faces, pre-colored vinyl is an excellent choice. It presents with a cleaner, deeper finish that creates a stunning visual impact even from a distance, which is critical when doing business near high-traffic corridors.
