Did you know that most Amazon sites have a separate break room and employee lounge with ping-pong tables and games? However, at the SBD2 location, they are combined. Because the lounge sits at the end of the break room, Amazon’s management team was looking for a way to transition the space into a relaxing area where employees can spend time before or after their shifts and during breaks.
The client specified a California theme with the facility’s dragon logo added. We designed a graphic complete with the ocean, California mountains, palm trees, and the logo dragon flying across the landscape. The state’s name is placed at the top in a font reminiscent of postcards. The finished product complements the lounge area’s color palette, creating an attractive, relaxing space that is fun to hang out in.
Case Study: Amazon SBD2 Facility’s Use of Custom Wall Graphics
The California-themed wall graphic is an excellent example of transforming a space. It takes a warehouse area designed for employee breaks and changes its atmosphere from functional to relaxing. Let’s take a look at the other wall graphics projects this client requested for this location.
-
AmCare Center. This area offers first aid to employees. The client requested wall graphics that would create a serene atmosphere. Because there are two treatment rooms, we created two custom landscape designs in soothing greens and browns.
-
Lobby. Here, the client was looking for custom-printed wallpaper that focused on branding. Instead of painting the reception area, we designed, produced, and installed printed wallpaper graphics that allow visitors and employees to experience the brand story.
-
Training area. Some space at the facility is allocated to a Day 1 Training area. Here, we combined a custom-printed 60-foot-wide banner and aluminum composite graphics panels. They outline Amazon’s values and help new hires get off to a good start.
Besides these projects, we put together custom-designed word wall graphics that reinforce the company’s vision and values, as well as giant wall decals that incorporate the facility’s logo with its tagline.
