The Boys & Girls Club is a returning client. We had previously designed, fabricated, and installed wall graphics in the OC, vinyl wall wraps in Newport Beach and Irvine, and die-cut decals in Santa Ana. Our latest project for this client consisted of classroom wall graphics at Cypress College, CA.
The Boys & Girls Club Inspires College-Bound Members with a Classroom Word Wall
This space is a Cypress College classroom that the Boys & Girls Club uses to teach members who are ready to enter college. We have been doing projects for this group of six clubs throughout the central Orange County area since about 2019. Most of our projects have been at the clubs or corporate offices.
In fact, we did a similar project at a retail location where the client rented a space for their college-bound program a couple of years ago. This time, they asked us to create a word wall with motivational words. Additionally, we were to leave a space for a dry-erase board in the center of the wall. The word wall will frame the board and be a visual reminder for the students as they are being taught.
The words the client focused on describe the traits of a successful student. Examples include “innovative,” “unstoppable,” and “optimistic.” Other terms focus on the results of an education, such as “Impact” and “Respect.”
Decorating College Classroom Walls With Custom-Printed Vinyl Graphics
There are several benefits these types of graphics offer—both aesthetic and functional.
- Enhances the learning environment. Bold, visually engaging graphics make a classroom more dynamic and less sterile. Word walls like the one our client requested are also ideal mood and morale boosters. Students feel more energized and positive in this thoughtfully designed space.
- Encourages creativity and engagement. Students feel more inspired to participate in a curated and intentional environment. Teachers can also tailor lesson plans to interact with the visuals on the wall. In this case, we left space for a dry-erase board right in the middle of the graphic, which is an excellent method for incorporating the graphics into the teaching process.
- Reinforces educational content. Use graphics related to the course or the subject that will be discussed in the space. Besides word walls, you might also display infographics or timelines to reinforce concepts and make complex material more digestible.
By the way, the vinyl we use is durable and easy to clean. It resists stains and is easy to wipe down, making it perfect for high-traffic areas.
